Reunions!!!

What a wonderful week we've had!! It started last Friday with a trip to Tulsa for our annual reunion with some special friends and fellow adoptive families. We traveled with many of these families for our Allie's adoption in 2005, and the others traveled just before us and shared the wait with us. We feel absolutely blessed with this wonderful group of friends!

Our annual reunion was especially memorable this year because we were able to invite a very special guest. Our "faraway friend" Alice from China, who was the guide for six of the families in 2005 and also who surprised our family in Beijing last year was able to come and spend the day with all of us! We tried hard to keep it a surprise for the families, but at dinner Friday night I couldn't hold my excitement any longer and I completely spilled the beans! Two of the families decided to come with us to the airport to surprise Alice instead!

Saturday night our family (including Alice!) headed home for Springfield and we've been blessed to have an incredible, busy week to share our lives and just talk with one another. It's been so fun to compare our daily lives in China and Missouri and laugh about some of the differences. Just having the opportunity to share our lives with her this week seems like a precious gift.
