Praise God for answered prayers! We thought that it was on its way (hence the tease yesterday!) but it was oh so sweet to get that confirmation from our agency! We have requested a Consulate Appointment date of August 16th which will allow Adam to come along again on this journey and help, and our agency is very confident that we will get that CA date. We have been praying at every step of this adoption process for God to work out the timing so that Adam would be between semesters and able to come with us to help with the girls (not to mention luggage) As we neared the summer months, we realized that there was only one week that would work, and we continued to pray. Thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayers!
Our agency has actually been working with us in advance of this TA's arrival, planning out our trip so that we could move quickly with reserving our flights, etc. I have to say that I love Xiaoqing of BAAS and her determinedness to get things done!
Max's orphanage has been requiring families to stay an extra long time in the province because the police department in Hangzhou has needed extra time to prepare the children's passports. (This doesn't seem to be a problem in almost all the other provinces, and we certainly have never run into this before) The orphanage originally said that we needed to be in Hangzhou by 3rd of August, receive Max on the 4th, and then wait for the 12th to leave for Guangzhou. The next day the orphanage contacted our agencies travel service in China and told them that we would not have to come that early. They now say that they will start the passport process without us, and we don't have to be there until the 7th (and receive Max on the 8th) Well, that's great! EXCEPT, . . . we're a little nervous about what will happen if they change their mind again, . . . SO, we've decided to go ahead and fly into Shanghai on the 3rd like we originally thought we'd have to do, and spend 2 days sightseeing there. We're planning to take the train to Hangzhou on the 6th, get settled in and get our bearings a little on the 7th, and then receive Max on the 8th. If we're needed in Hangzhou early after all, we'll just be a short train ride away and will be able to get there quickly. It will sure be interesting to see how it all works out!
I'll be sharing our trip itinerary soon! I have a little bit to do to get ready for the trip, and to get ready for our new life with our new littlest son at home! YAY!!!!!

OH Jill!! We are so excited for you...seems like it is happening quickly. We can't wait for you to be holding that baby boy ande to get to meet him soon. Praying that our baby boy comes home quickly so that he and Max can get started on the job of being Best Buddies!

Hooray! We actually had a similar situation with the passport in Guizhou, but they did start processing it without us there and it worked out fine.

Saw your post on Christina H's blog and hopped over - your family is beautiful! You will LOVE Hangzhou. Our son is from Wenzhou and we traveled to Zhejiang last October. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask - the area is lovely. :)
August 16 was my FFD with Emma in Hangzhou; you will have a wonderful time, even if it will be super hot & humid. Guess the weather here is just preparing you!
